From university lecturer to business analyst: about burnout, fear of change, and carpe diem
One morning, I received an email from a recruiter at a small company in Vinnytsia who needed a tech writer. I grabbed the opportunity, went through three rounds of interviews, and miraculously got the offer I wanted.
Review
In general, I am a lawyer by education. I graduated from the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and am very proud. But after working as a lawyer, one day, I realized that I wanted to start with a clean slate. Most of all, I wanted to work remotely. And only later, among all specialities, I found QA Manual. I have been choosing between UI/UX Design and QA for a long time. My friends advised me to study at Beetroot Academy. A close friend of mine completed courses for a project manager, after which she quickly found a job. So I decided to master the QA Manual. I got everything I wanted while studying, but it would be nice to pay more attention to API testing. Nastya gave excellent homework feedback, which became the basis of my interest in studying. I was surprised that we quickly figured out API testing and SQL. Two weeks after completing the course, I found my first job in Djinni. The result of completing the first test task was an offer; I received the second offer month later when I was already working. Now I work for an international company that deals with SRM and telephony. We cover about 30 geographical areas.
