Before the full-scale war, I worked at a large company in Donbas, but everything changed on February 24. I lost my job, my home, and had to relocate to Poltava due to the threat to my life. At first, I didn’t know how to move forward. I considered going abroad but ultimately decided to wait for the opportunity to enroll in the "HR Generalist" course at Beetroot Academy.

The training was a real challenge for me — constant power outages, internet issues, and doubts about my abilities and age. However, I worked hard, completed every assignment, and gradually saw how the knowledge I gained became systematic. The HR Generalist course opened up new horizons for me: I learned a structured approach to recruitment, gained practical skills in working with candidates, and mastered modern tools.

Now, I work as the Head of the Human Resources Department at a growing financial company. Thanks to the knowledge I gained from the course, I confidently manage recruitment, develop corporate culture, and initiate social projects within the company. This training was a turning point in my life, helping me to disconnect from the difficult realities and opening up new opportunities for career growth.

The war brought significant changes to my life. My family and I fled Bucha in difficult and uncertain circumstances. When the situation stabilized, I realized it was time to stop dwelling on the past and take action. That’s when I saw a Facebook announcement from Beetroot Academy offering women in challenging situations an opportunity to learn IT skills.

After passing the application process, I joined the QA Manual course at Beetroot Academy. The three months of training were tough, especially with blackouts and constant challenges. I often worked on assignments late into the night, but the structured lessons and motivation from our instructor, Pavlo Okhonko, kept me going.

Following the course, it took months of effort, daily learning, and sending out countless resumes before I secured an internship at Driver.Top. The internship gave me the practical skills I lacked, such as testing tools and ensuring design consistency. I am now focused on building my career in QA, continuously learning, and developing the skills needed to succeed. Beetroot Academy not only provided the foundation but also helped me find the resilience and drive to move forward.

I am originally from Kharkiv, and two years ago, I worked as a manicurist. The full-scale war turned my life upside down. I had to leave my home for safety, and during this time, I moved 11 times, trying to work and settle in different cities.

While working in the service industry, I often thought about how convenient it would be to work remotely. When I got the chance to study at Beetroot Academy, I saw it as an opportunity to gain a new profession that would allow me to work from anywhere.
I chose the Digital Marketing course because I’ve always been fascinated by social media. The course was incredibly engaging, but balancing work and studies was challenging. I did my best to catch up and practice every topic.

Now, I work at Prom.ua, a Ukrainian marketplace hosting millions of products. My responsibilities include managing product descriptions, filling out technical specifications, and communicating with clients. I enjoy working in marketing and plan to specialize further in specific areas of the field. This career shift has been life-changing, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.

In the fall of 2021, I started my first course at Beetroot Academy, but I only began my job search in early 2022. Unfortunately, my scheduled interview on February 24 was canceled due to the outbreak of the full-scale war. I joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served for two years, fully dedicating myself to military service and not even opening my laptop during that time.

After my demobilization in October 2023, I decided to return to IT and applied for a veterans’ course at Beetroot Academy. The instructor quickly brought me up to speed, taking into account my two-year break from the field. The job search consultations and assistance with my resume were pivotal to my success.

Just one month into the course, I started sending out resumes and applied to over 70 job openings. As a result, I was invited to interviews with two companies, and within two days, I received a job offer. Currently, I am working while continuing my studies, as the practical aspects of the course are incredibly valuable and engaging.
For me, being part of a supportive community that aids my learning and professional development is truly invaluable.
