"Don't think of IT as a train you have to jump on": experience of a Python developer
I expected the teacher to follow the program exclusively, but I was pleasantly surprised when the course structure served more as a reference. Instead, the gradual immersion in the programming world was slightly different — practical — scenario.

I worked in the field of SEO and advertising in a company that sells workbenches and technological equipment. Sometimes I had to make simple web pages for sales. But I always needed more profound knowledge. After a visit to the Google office in Munich, I finally decided that I wanted to be a programmer. I was looking for suitable courses. I liked that you can learn faster at the academy than at other schools. I didn't want to stretch my studies for a year, as other educational institutions offered, and pay more. I already had the basics, plus the studying program suited my needs. The studying was well organized, and there was good feedback from the organizers. Later I moved to Poland, and in 2020 I founded my firm. At first, I worked as an order-to-order freelancer. For 1.5 years, I have been making websites on WordPress. And then, I received a project on Vue JS, after which the client ordered an application on React Native. But I dreamed of a permanent job since I did not have a stable income. I am currently working with an advertising agency and a start-up service for automatically generating subtitles for videos.

After graduating from a technical university, I worked as an energy manager and had career achievements. However, the coronavirus pandemic has significantly affected the market, and I decided that it was time to make a dream come true, namely, to change the field of activity. I had friends who were IT professionals, their atmosphere of communication, knowledge and thinking seemed to me to be something cool and something that would make me happy. I took a responsible approach to choosing a school. I studied the market of IT schools, read reviews, prepared a table with favourites ones, and, after personal communication with school managers, made an informed decision. I was fortunate to have a teacher, Iryna, who shared her knowledge, and practical experience and invited colleagues to give lectures. All this knowledge then significantly distinguished me from other candidates at interviews, and I had several offers. The self-study approach before class works really cool. Also, the guests invited by the teacher and the analysis of actual cases were helpful, and I later used it many times in my work. Even during the course, I had job interviews. A set of knowledge, good English, an understanding of processes and a demonstration of a completed project during the training helped in finding a job. And I received job offers. In the first month of the full-scale invasion of Russia, I was lucky enough to find my company - the company of my dreams. I have been working as a project manager at Digis for a year and have many exciting projects.
