A mission that shapes our approach

Beetroot Academy began its work in 2014 as a response to the consequences of war, using technological education as a tool for support and recovery.

Since 2015, we have also been working with veterans and their families, and in 2025, we launched training programs in the field of defense and dual-use technologies as a logical continuation of our mission and a practical response to the challenges Ukraine faces today.

In 2012, Andreas founded Beetroot, focusing on using technology for social good. Today, he leads Beetroot Academy while also building the European defense tech ecosystem through Varangians, the first Swedish investment company focusing on Ukrainian defense tech.

Our programs are conducted online, allowing engineers from various cities and contexts to participate. The format is built around practice, applied scenarios, and the logic of real projects.

Engineers with experience are learning

Most of our students are developers from IT, engineers, energy specialists, miltech, and manufacturing. About 60% transition from software to hardware or want to program 'hardware.'

Current curriculum

Our programs are designed based on feedback from over 70 defense sector companies. Therefore, the training focuses on practical skills that help specialists quickly find their place in the industry.
